Love, Not Said Enough

The words that you said,
The feelings that you expressed,
For having known you that long,
I would have thought you would never say.

But the love that I felt,
When you said you loved me,
Chattered my heart into a million pieces,
Because that is how magnificent that message was when you took away the breath from my lungs.

I would have expected a warning,
Before the words that flew out of your mouth to my ears,
But I was caught off guard,
And now it’s your turn to piece my heart back together.

I tell my self that you changed,
By the words heard,
And the feelings displayed,
But yet do I see any signs of affection.

You changed my world,
Time and time again,
Something that no one has ever done,
Something I never knew was true till I met you.

I think something clicked,
With those 3 words,
I thought that I had heard too much,
That they would soon give me false happiness.

But upon the moment that you muttered them,
You didn’t choke on any syllable,
The chance that you could take back the words,
You didn’t hesitate to say.

The 3 words that we hear everyday,
Friend to friend,
Lover to lover,
And a family says it plenty times over.

But no matter what the situation is,
My knees go weak under those 3 words.

I love you,
Is what you said,
I returned in saying,

I love you too.

Darkness That Surrounds Her

Her bright eyes shimmered like snowflakes in the afternoon sun,
Glistening tears rushing down her face,
Almost as if the dam has been shattered into tiny pieces.

Her heart that used to be the home of her love,
Was replaced with the sorrow and sadness,
That would soon consume her.

The darkness that is too much,
Cannot be controlled by the light,
Any longer.

The hole of a soul,
The pitch-dark night that looms around her,
Are all factors of her dying wish.

“An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, evil for evil.” She said.

My dark soul bids you farewell.
